A message from the Green Township Advisory Board:

Thank you for allowing us to serve you.   We wanted to highlight some of the progress that has happened in our first term together.   We have enjoyed working together these past 4 years and it has been a great learning experience for us.   We have purchased a fire truck, learned how to help preserve our cemeteries, created a website, started recording our public meetings to better inform the community and created a capital improvement plan for our township. I am pleased to announce we will all be on the ballot in 2026.  As a board, we look forward to learning more and increasing our presence in the community for the next 4 years. Green Township Advisory Board - 2026

Green Township Volunteer Fire Department Highlights:

~Replaced 1999 Rescue Fire Truck with a 2024 Rescue Fire Truck

~Received a LUCAS device from the county funds

~LIT grants received each year from County Council for turnout gear, hoses, leaking water apparatus and a pump

~Each year the volunteers hold their annual pork chop dinner for fundraising- A wonderful community event

Green Township Fire Department Highlights

Cemetery Highlights:

~Hancock County Pioneer Cemetery Commission and volunteers have been working on restoring our cemetery stones.

~Removed 4 dangerous trees that could have caused damage to historic stones.

~A gate was added at Maple Grove/Olvey Cemetery for safety of the cemetery

~Overgrowth was removed around the fence line at Wynn Cemetery.

Thank you to all the volunteers that have helped work in our pioneer cemeteries so their story can continue to be told.
